Susan Johnson

LMSW

I graduated with my Master of Social Work from Western Michigan University, with a specialization in trauma. I have experience working with children, families and adults that have been through a variety of circumstances, including anxiety, depression, relationship issues, trauma, and many other areas. I have supported families involved in the child welfare system, including CPS, Foster Care and adoption. I seek to provide a safe, non-judgmental, relationship-focused, trauma-informed space for people of all ages to learn and grow.

I have been trained in Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI) that facilitates connection between caregivers and their children and provides connection-based correction strategies. I am trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I also have experience in Infant Mental Health, supporting mothers through pregnancy, childbirth, and the bonding between the mother/caregiver and baby/young child. I also use play therapy and a variety of other techniques to support children and address caregiver concerns.

It is my goal to provide you with empathy, validation, and curiosity that helps you feel safe, seen, and heard so that you are able to feel supported and encouraged in all seasons of life.
